Restaurants
I love eating at restaurants, but don’t do so that often due to time, money and using up CSA veggie constraints. Good thing those don’t prevent me from making aspirational lists!
Restaurants I have loved, or would like to
To visit. Soon:
- Harry Singh’s
- La Belle Vie
- Sea Change – I did go to a wedding they catered and pretty much got high on scallops, which were so freaking good. So, I look forward to the full experience.
- Sea Salt Eatery
- Town Talk Diner
- WA Frost
- Corner Table – Especially now that Owner/Chef Scott Pampuch is one of the driving forces behind Tour de Farm, and the event we went to at the Walker back in July knocked my socks off.
Places I’ve been and would like to go back to:
- Al’s Breakfast (review) – shine on, you crazy-delicious breakfast diamond. Who needs a website when you make pancakes like you do?
- Bulldog NE
- Heartland
- Restaurant Alma
- Spoonriver
- Vincent
Standbys and Favorites:
- Birchwood Cafe – meets all of my needs, in particular Surly on tap and carrot cake.
- The Blue Door Pub – always packed full of people craving a juicy blucy and something from the outstanding selection of beers on tap. The Merriam Park Blucy, I am looking in your direction.
- Brasa – if the sides and the pork had a fight over my tummy, both would win. There’s room for everybody. Especially you, plantains and yuca.
- The Craftsman – have I mentioned that Mike Phillips is a pork wizard? Because he is. I [heart] you, pork rillettes.
- Gardens of Salonica
- Hell’s Kitchen
- Izzy’s
- Matt’s Bar – the original Jucy Lucy. I will accept no arguments.
- Midtown Global Market – many opportunities for deliciousness, but La Loma tamales and anything from they Salty Tart have stolen my heart. Or at least my tummy.
- Pizza Luce – Oh, Ruby Rae. How do I love thee? Mostly, with a caesar salad.
- Pumphouse Creamery – hate the Flash website, love the ice cream.
- Punch – Woodfired pizza, I cannot resist your siren song.
- Solera
- Sushi Tango
- True Thai – as if the food weren’t awesome enough, Anna’s True Thai News, the blog from owner Anna Prasomphol Fieser, always makes me cheerful.
- Ted Cook’s 19th Hole
